Reflections and resources for the NeuroYogaNYC Community 2026
Welcome
I’m Anne Dahlstrøm, a social educator from Denmark and the founder of Sensory-Supportive Practice.
My work brings together yoga, body-based approaches, social pedagogy and special education. Over the years, I have become increasingly interested in what makes a difference for participation in everyday life – not only during a session, but afterwards.
Here I share three resources prepared for the 2026 Neuroscience and Yoga Community Showcase.

1. What Makes the Difference for Participation?
A personal introduction to my practice, the questions that have emerged along the way, and my growing interest in what happens beyond the practice space.

An adapted and condensed English version of my Danish article, exploring regulation through practice, lived experience, research and critical reflection.

3. Sensory Orientation Cards – A Small Gift
Ten visual orientation cards inspired by Deb Dana’s concept of glimmers and developed through my social-pedagogical practice.
The cards invite attention to small sensory, bodily and relational experiences. They are not exercises or techniques, and there is no right or wrong response.
I’m happy to share them freely with the community.

Om NeuroYogaNYC Showcase
Neuroscience and Yoga Community Showcase afholdes den 9.–15. november 2026 og samler mennesker med interesse for yoga, neurovidenskab og praksis.
Jeg deltog som oplægsholder ved sidste års Showcase med en 15-minutters videopræsentation. I år har jeg valgt at bidrage med skriftligt materiale, som jeg deler med fællesskabet gennem Community Lobby.
Her har jeg samlet en engelsk introduktion til min praksis, en faglig artikel og ti sansestøttende kort, som frit kan downloades.
